Pacific National has entered into a commercial agreement for the provision of terminal services with FreightLink, enabling access to Pacific National’s existing terminals in Adelaide and Alice Springs, and FreightLink’s new terminals at Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin.

This arrangement ensures that rail services between Adelaide and Darwin will connect with the national rail network to all major capital cities through the Adelaide terminal, thereby offering a seamless link for freight onto the Central Corridor.

The connection with the interstate rail system will benefit FreightLink customers from the Eastern States and Western Australia and will also facilitate the development of international trade.

Pricing schedules for intermodal freight have been finalised with FreightlInk’s Freight Forwarder Customers who can provide competitive and cost effective ‘door-to-door’ freight distribution based on the use of FreightLink’s rail services. The FreightLink “LINKS” page provides an internet channel to these Customers.

FreightLink’s services commence on 15 January 2004 with a special inaugural train. Our normal scheduled services commence on the 16 of January 2004.
